FujiClean Introduces Johkasou Technology at a PCCI Environmental Seminar

FujiClean joined the Philippines–Japan Environmental Technologies Exchange Seminar as an online speaker, presenting its decentralized wastewater treatment technology.

Participants attended a hybrid presentation on onsite wastewater treatment, with the speaker joining online.

FujiClean joined the Philippines–Japan Environmental Technologies Exchange Seminar as an online speaker on March 24, 2026. The seminar is also referenced on the homepage of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), reflecting its connection to PCCI's event communications.

About PCCI

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) describes itself as a non-stock, non-profit, non-government business organization representing companies of all sizes, together with local chambers and industry associations across the Philippines. In its official profile, PCCI positions itself as the voice of Philippine business and a driver of a healthier national economy.

PCCI states that it was established on July 1, 1978 through the merger of the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and the Philippine Chamber of Industry. Its official materials also note that it is recognized as the sole official representative and voice of the country's private business community.

Beyond membership representation, PCCI highlights a broad range of functions on its website, including policy advocacy, participation in government policy-making bodies, a nationwide network of more than 100 local chambers, connections with trade and industry associations, business matching with overseas partners, and international exchanges through business councils, including those related to Japan.

FujiClean's Presentation

FujiClean's presentation, titled Johkasou — Decentralized Wastewater Treatment System, introduced Johkasou as an onsite wastewater treatment solution for locations that are not connected to municipal sewerage systems. The presentation explained that the system is designed for domestic wastewater treatment and uses a biological treatment process based on microorganisms.

The presentation also highlighted the relevance of decentralized treatment in the Philippines, where gaps in wastewater infrastructure remain a major challenge. Background seminar materials pointed to limited sewerage coverage, untreated household wastewater in many areas, and increasingly strict regulation under the Clean Water Act and related wastewater standards. Together, these factors point to the need for practical and scalable treatment options such as Johkasou, especially in areas where expanding centralized sewerage infrastructure is difficult or costly.

FujiClean also presented the concept of combining centralized sewerage development with decentralized systems, and referred to the JICA Project in Baguio 2025 as part of its efforts to demonstrate compliance with local standards and the effectiveness of decentralized wastewater treatment solutions in the Philippine market. The presentation also made clear that Johkasou is intended for domestic wastewater only, and that regular maintenance is essential to ensure stable long-term performance.

Moving Forward

Through this opportunity, FujiClean was pleased to share its expertise in decentralized domestic wastewater treatment with stakeholders connected through PCCI and to contribute to ongoing dialogue on sustainable environmental infrastructure in the Philippines. With more than 60 years of experience in Johkasou technology, FujiClean will continue to promote practical solutions that support safe, efficient, and resilient wastewater management in overseas markets.
